Tal: There's one of Frank with the band in the full photo album, but I'll try to snap a close-up of the two rings in the close future. I thought he might get another stainless band (with a shiny stone in it, to make it more girly) to match his, but he got me a gold ring with a flower made of six small clear stones and a purplish one.

As for the cruise, eeermm... we left from South Street Seaport, went around Ellis Island and then crossed the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge, so I'll go with East River. I'll admit the cruise could have been shorter, though. It was 90 minutes long, but the last 20 minutes or so were in total darkness and, as most everyone had gone back inside the cabin to flee the cold and wind and the windows weren't clean enough for a good view, we were just waiting to get back. The first part was better, though.

Simon, you missed the "when we got back", as in back home. He brought a ring back with the groceries, and offered it to me in the morning, with kids hopping on the bed all around. We had tried to find one for me in the city, though, but no luck.

A wonderful trip with more to come for us. Hooray! But if you had planned the letter and the ring as a bit of a surprise, how come Frank ALSO had a ring for you? Serendipity at work, or more nefarious forces?

Awesome pics, too.

The dinner sounds lovely - any chance of a pic of the rings? I went to Tiffany's too, but found it really overwhelming! We liked FAO Schwartz better, more fun! The boat cruise sounds very nice though - was it on the Hudson, or the East river?
